Savage Build Spotlight: 2018 Coachmen Leprechaun: Lifted, Detailed, & Driveway-Proof

Sometimes the “small” issue ends up changing everything. This 2018 Coachmen Leprechaun showed up at Savage with one problem: the plumbing hung so low it scraped just getting into the driveway. The fix? Simple, go up. A 6-inch lift not only solved the clearance headache but unlocked new freedom for road trips, off-grid weekends, and dirt-road detours.
WeldTec 6-Inch Off Grid Lift Kit + Stabilization
We went all-in with a WeldTec Designs Off Grid 6-inch lift kit and a steering stabilizer to keep this Class C planted. Getting there meant some serious underbody rework:
Black water tank relocated + replaced
Propane tank relocated + replaced
Factory airbags pulled (progressive leaf springs don’t need the Band-Aid)
The payoff: stronger rear suspension, tighter road manners, and clearance that makes steep driveways and rough trailheads an afterthought.
Tires: Cooper Discoverer Stronghold A/T
A lift isn’t complete without the right shoes. We wrapped this rig in Cooper Discoverer Stronghold A/Ts (235/85/16). Smooth enough for long highway drives, grippy enough for when the pavement disappears.
Full Exterior Detail + 10 Year Ceramic Coating
Next up: giving the exterior a reset and protecting it for the long haul. Our detail team handled:
Roof scrub + UV protection
Full decon wash
Two-stage paint correction
Spot wet sanding for deep scratches
Wheels, tires, trim, glass, and jambs fully treated
Then we locked it down with Adams Pro Grade Ceramic Coating — rated for 10+ years. That means fewer wash days, a longer-lasting shine, and real defense against sun, dirt, and weather. To keep it dialed in, the owner left with a Savage ceramic maintenance kit.
From Driveway to Dirt Roads
What rolled in with a clearance issue drove out as a fully upgraded rig. With the WeldTec 6-inch Off-Road lift, progressive leaf springs, new Cooper A/Ts, and a ceramic-coated exterior, this Leprechaun isn’t worried about scraping anymore — it’s built for driveways, highways, and dirt-road adventures alike.
